ABOVE: Detailed plan of the aft area of the Quiberon's 'Cabin deck' (deck 5). The red line indicates the limit of the original aft upper garage - all cabins astern (left on the plan) of this were added by Brittany Ferries before the ship entered service in 1982. As can be seen, new cabins tended to be slightly larger, usually with four berths whereas those outside cabins directly forward had only two berths. Of interest is the fact that the ships emergency/fire plans continue to treat the former garage area as totally separate with emergency doors sealing the aft area on this deck entirely by closing across the corridor. The 'EFG' lobby is in the centre of this plan, the main lobby containing the information desk being the part-oval shaped area to the right (see the Deck 5 lobbies page). The rectangular space right astern along the centreline contains the ship's two cinemas (split port and starboard), which functioned also as reclining seat lounges on some sailings.

The notes on cabins in the Reviews & Press page
ABOVE LEFT: A 1980s view of one of Quiberon's deluxe cabins.
ABOVE RIGHT: The bulk of Quiberon's accommodation was in rather smaller four- and two-berth cabins; this widely-used brochure shot shows one of the outside four-berth type with en-suite facilities. The twin berths on the right-hand side are fully made up, whilst the settee on the left conceals the lower of two additional berths, the upper of which is folded away into the wall, Pullman-style.
BELOW: The daunting prospect faced by exiting passengers with cabins on the decks beneath the car garage. This is stairwell 'B' (pictured on the Quiberon in 2002) which emerges into the forward 'ABCD' centreline lobby on Deck 5.
